Greetings Good Citizens

Been awhile since my previous postings so you are getting a whole bunch today. I recently aquire a job that is demanding more of my time than I expected. Nevertheless it didn't stop me from finding out that the Nintendo next generation system codenamed Revolution, officially named Wii could very well be coming out this October. This is great news for people who can't wait to get their hands on Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess or Super Smash Bros. Brawl!!! I am really looking forward to the new free motion style of control. But until then Quake Wars demos will have to do :) Quake Wars looks like it will be the Battlefield 2 killer. I have played quite a bit of Battlefield 2 and to be honest never thought it was much more than Counterstrike with some big maps and vehicles. Quake Wars may actually force twitch shooter fans to think a little further than the bust down the door and go in with your eyes closed mentality. There is alot of goodness coming our way this fall in both comics and games, it will be a great quarter for fans of entertainment.

WHERE'S THE NEW POSTS??

Okay, I'll make one for you:

"Hollywood opens to modest box office"

The biopic about Superman actor George Reeves opened to a modest $6 million this weekend, despite some good reviews. The movie stars Ben Affleck as George Reeves/Clark Kent/Superman. Bob Hoskins, Adrian Brody and Diane Lane also star.

jasonmajor32 writes:

I thought Hollywoodland would open bigger (between $15-25 million) but it is a biopic, after all. Still, looks like a great movie, whether you are a Superman or not.
Our only chance to see Affleck as Superman. Wasn't he a possible choice for Superman at one time?

Bob...this is NOT a joke..

www.newsarama.com reports this:

Question: This classic character will be returning to a much requested classic look.

Answer: What is the black Spider-Man costume?

READ MORE:

NRAMA: Whoa… everyone was guessing Spider-Man but I think you may have caught them off-guard with the black costume.

Again, is this another case where you’re trying to come up with a synergy - if not direct relation -with the movie (i.e. the appearance of Venom and a black costume) in the core comic book titles?

JQ: Actually, no. We’ve been planning for a “Back-in-Black” story with Spidey for some time now, it’s just serendipitous timing that it will come out around the release of the movie. That said, we¹ll take complete credit for planning it that way.

And what would the world say if they saw Peter Parker standing next to someone in the black suit? That sure would solve a lot of problems wouldn’t it? Or would it cause more problems than one could suspect? Or could it be the worse, cliché cheat of all time?

NRAMA: Waitaminute, for the last six months or so (it seems), you’ve been torturing readers with the prospect of Peter and Mary Jane’s marriage going the way of the foil-enhanced cover (a forgotten product of another era), now they have to deal with the possibility it might not even be Peter behind the black mask?

JQ: Heh, heh, heh. Oh, you’re trying to be sneaky here, but we’re just as sneaky.

NRAMA: How would you say this relates – if at all – to The Other?

JQ: I bet you’re dying to know who’s in that costume aren’t you?

NRAMA: Nice…

How will this relate to your upcoming Spider-Man limited series with JMS?

JQ: Well, let me put it this way, everything that’s happening right now with Spider-Man affects my Spidey story with JMS. I think I can say that this story I’m working on will be a pivotal moment in Spidey’s history.

NRAMA: And how will this affect Jeph Loeb and Jeff Campbell’s upcoming project?

JQ: It will affect everything in that story as well.

NRAMA: How about either New or Mighty Avengers? Will a black costume Spidey of unknown identity be a member of either team?

JQ: Lalalalalal, lala, I can’t hear you.

BLACK SPIDER-MAN is coming...

SUPERMAN II:THE DONNER CUT
(information from www.supermanhomepage.com)

Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut (1980/2006)
"Superman II will delight fans who, for years, have been imploring Warner Home Video via voluminous numbers of petitions, letters, phone calls and e-mails to release the Donner cut. In fact, Donner had already shot most of the Superman II footage during Superman: The Movie. But as production on the sequel continued, creative differences between the director and the film's producers became irreconcilable and Donner left the project. Although Richard Lester was hired to finish production, he chose to make major changes to the film, leaving only vestiges of Donner's original vision and concepts in the version of Superman II that was ultimately released to theaters. Now, nearly thirty years later, Warner Home Video is honored to grant the wishes of countless Superman fans. With this DVD release, Richard Donner has become the first director in history to be able to complete a film he left during production with nearly all his footage "in the can." Adding back a substantial amount of that unused footage, the director has seen his original vision restored and brought to fruition. Most notably, the "Donner cut" restores the Marlon Brando role, filmed for, but not included in the final theatrical release version of Superman II. The legendary Brando's performance as Jor-El has finally been restored in key scenes that amplify Superman lore and deepen the profound relationship between father and son. With so many other changes, large and small, including a variety of Lois Lane (Margot Kidder) schemes to unmask Clark Kent as Superman, this Superman II will prove to be an eye-opening experience and an important addition to film history.

All new introduction by director Richard Donner
Commentary by director Richard Donner and creative consultant Tom Mankiewicz
